Extra tips for the adventurous

Wahlenberg tarns, Mlynická valley
Difficult≈ 9 h

Wahlenberg tarns (2,157 m) — a loop through the Mlynická and Furkotská valleys

From Starý Smokovec by car or TEŽ to Štrbské Pleso. Follow the yellow trail to the Nižšie and Vyššie Wahlenbergerovo pleso (lower and higher tarns), then over the Bystrá lávka saddle (a more demanding section with chains), descend to the Vodopád Skok (waterfall) and return through the Furkotská Dolina valley back to Štrbské Pleso.

A full-day, demanding loop — proper footwear, gear and checked weather are a must. Ask about seasonal trail closures.

Lomnický štít
By cable car2,634 m

Lomnický štít — the roof of the Tatras

Take the cable car from Tatranská Lomnica to Skalnaté pleso (12.4 min), then the aerial cableway to the summit (8.8 min) for a unique panoramic view. Because capacity is limited, we recommend buying timed tickets in advance and bringing warm clothing.
